Bad neighbors lower property value

My husband and I bought a house in the Jacksonville area around seven years ago.

Located in the suburbs, our neighborhood was quiet, safe and peaceful. We were especially pleased that the house situated on the one side stood empty. We rarely saw our other neighbors. About a year ago, the empty house went up for sale. The people who purchased and moved into the home are awful. They have a half dozen cars parked in the yard, most of which don’t run and aren’t licensed. They drop garbage such as beer bottles, laundry detergent bottles and empty cat litter boxes in the grass. They stack empty dog food cans on the front porch, which draws in cockroaches, rodents and other pests. They blast loud music late at night and have frequent shouting matches. Sometimes there are fistfights right in the front yard or in the middle of the street. The cops are frequent visitors. The neighbors have at least three dogs and too many cats to count. They have a chicken and several ducks that make lots of noise. The feces from the animals has led to an abundance of flies. My husband and I want to move. We tried listing the house with a real estate agent. Potential buyers are scared off by the mess next door. The neighbors have significantly lowered the resale value of our home. We finally decided to reach out to a cash home buyer. The company is local and purchases homes throughout Jacksonville. We filled out the contact form and received a cash offer the same day. We have accepted the offer.
